The Selection of Reviewers
Before a manuscript enters the Hall of Scholarship, it must be judged by the Guardians of Knowledge — scholars who possess:

Mastery in their chosen realm

Advanced academic runes (Ph.D. or equivalent)

A history of victories in published quests

Membership in respected academies

A vow of neutrality and honesty

Previous service as guardians

Time to inspect the manuscript thoroughly

Commitment to the ancient ethics of COPE
The Guardian’s Duties (Do’s)

Protect the scrolls with utmost secrecy

Offer fair and wise counsel
-
Provide thorough insights into strengths and weaknesses

Honor the sacred timeline
-
Declare any ties or conflicts
-
Judge the scroll, not its creator
-
Use noble and respectful language
-
Alert the council of any dark practices (plagiarism, deception)

Speaking to the scroll’s author

Delaying judgment for selfish reasons

Stealing ideas from the scroll

Showing favoritism or grudges

Passing the duty to another without permission

Focusing only on minor imperfections

Guardians who perform exceptionally earn recognition in the annual Scroll of Honor.
